Welcome to the Snowy Valleys Way, a beautiful, alternative touring route to the Hume Highway.

A thematic concept rather than destinational, Snowy Valleys Way is a new tourism experience. It encourages visitors to indulge their passions, regardless of borders, while enjoying some of the best touring Australia has to offer.

The SVW starts in the rolling hills of Gundagai, NSW, and leisurely winds its way south through Tumut, Tumbarumba, Corryong, Yackandandah, and Beechworth; an alternate touring route to the Hume Highway.

The route, which includes nearby valleys, offers an incredible range of thematic experiences – from the arts, great wine, golfing, romantic escapes, to breathtaking nature walks, wild brumbies and some of Australia’s best fishing and camping. Few other 4 Hour drives can offer such diversity of interest and quality of experience.

The SVW is an innovative marketing project, based on the concept that tourists don’t recognise borders.

It sets a new benchmark in regional tourism development and cross-border co-operation. Jointly funded by AusIndustry, SVW encompasses the five shire councils en route: Gundagai, Tumut and Tumbarumba in NSW, and Towong and Indigo in Victoria.
