Battle on the Bidgee

Batlow Apple Blossom Festival
An idyllic country festival set amidst acres of blooming apple trees. Hume and Hovell Ultra
The Hume & Hovell 50km and 100km is an ultra-marathon conducted along part of the Hume & Hovell Walking Track. The walking track follows as closely as possible the historic route take by explorers Hume & Hovell on their 1824 expedition to Port Phillip Bay. Talbingo Jounama Fishing Classic
The Jounama Fishing Classic is held in the Snowy Mountains township of Talbingo which is surrounded by pristine lakes and mountain streams. This unique freshwater fishing competition is held each October on the picturesque Jounama Pondage. What makes the event unique is the fact that the Jounama is normally closed to all watercraft but during this event a limited number of craft are allowed to fish these waters thanks to special permission from Snowy Hydro. Lanterns on the Lagoon and Sculptures in the Park
Lanterns on the Lagoon features a sculpture competition, the sculptures being created from recycled and natural materials. The sculptures are displayed in Pioneer Park by the Tumut River and the magnificent trees and beautiful lagoon provide a serene backdrop for the works of art. During the evening the sculptures are enhanced by solar lighting giving them another dimension. Children’s activities, drumming workshops and inspiring musical performances enhance the evening all at no cost to the public… and a variety of gourmet food and drink stalls available.
