Discover the life, diversity & fun of festivals along the Snowy Valleys Way

Bring your musical instrument along and join in at the Nariel Creek Folk festival for a week of great folk music, dance and song.  This festival is located on the banks of the Nariel Creek just a few kilometres from Corryong.  Bring your tent and stay on site if you really want to soak up the Folkie and family atmosphere of Australia’s first Folk Festival established in 1963.  It’s a great place to make new friends, learn new music and take home a new tune and memorable experience from the heart of the Upper Murray. Christmas/ New Year

Crack your whip and head to the heart of Man from Snowy River Country in Corryong where more than 18,000 visitors gather to celebrate Australian Bush Culture and the legendary Man from Snowy River, Jack Riley. Banjo Patterson’s legend comes alive in a three day celebration during early April each year.

Enjoy the spectacular mountain scenery, crisp clean air and stunning views of apple orchards in full blossom at Batlow; home of the famous and absolutely delicious Batlow Apple.  Relax and unwind, enjoy listening to music and the wholesome community spirit of the Batlow community.  The Apple bin art creations will astound.         Last Weekend in October.

Head to the town that moved in the 1950s but be sure to put on your blue suede shoes to be prepared to rock’n’roll at the Tallangatta 50s Festival.  Celebrate everything from the 50s; classic cars, pointy shoes, big hair, market stalls and world class entertainment.  Rock’n’roll dancers gather from all around Australia to celebrate a slice of life from the 50s. It’s a fantastic weekend for all rock’n’roll lovers.  Last weekend in October

There’s nothing like the sound of the bag pipes as they echo the historic streets of Beechworth. The Beechworth Celtic Festival is a sterling celebration of Beechworth’s Celtic past.  Enjoy the pipe bands, Highland and Irish dancing, street parades and you will find yourself kicking up your heels too. Mid November.

Place your bet, frock up and enjoy the historic Dog on the Tuckerbox Festival at Gundagai.  This classic Australian country festival at historic Gundagai will give you the chance to learn about the Dad and Dave legend and will have you picking a winner at the post at a real Australian country horse racing event.  Third weekend in November

Festival Fever is all year round along the Snowy Valleys Way; oodles of diversity, great fun and unique Australian celebrations
