Tumut Aero Club

The Tumut Aero club was formed in 1956 and has been teaching people to fly ever since.

We will put you in the pilot’s seat for a truly magnificent flight around the best scenery the snowy mountains has to offer. Take a trial flight where you will be sitting along side a qualified flight instructor in a modern light sport aircraft for a truly unforgettable experience. You will be even able to take control of the aircraft if you want!!! Trial flights start at $70.

Tumut is the closest place to Canberra where you can learn to fly a light sport aircraft, and you will learn all you need to know to gain your Recreational Aviation Pilot Certificate. This is the most affordable way to fly, where you can gain your pilot licence around three to five thousand dollars.

The club is a great family social centre, hosting clubs regularly and holds a big fly-in every August.
