Snowy Mountains Scheme

The building of the Snowy Mountains Scheme is a fascinating story which can be experienced at Snowy Hydro’s Murray 1 Visitors Centre, just 10km from Khancoban on the Alpine Way.  The Murray 1 Power Station is the second largest in the Scheme.  The Murray 1 Visitors Centre has models of generator units and other interactive displays. BBQ and picnic areas are open to the public, with light refreshments available in the Cafe.
